Insulation

There are primarily three types of renewable insulation material: recylced paper, sheep's wool and plant fibre (hemp or flax).

These materials can provide the same insulating values as non-renewable materials, such as fibreglass or rockwool.

Installing non-renewable insulation may require protective clothing and such materials can be potentially hazardous. Consequently, using renewable insulation might be adventageous if you want to install insulation yourself, where working with a non-hazardous material is preferable.

In addition, sheep's wool and plant fibre insulation materials can remain effective if they get wet, and will dry out again and continue to work.
