Over 170 people from business, the policy community, civil society and academia came to the conference and debated how to build a framework for action that puts resource resilience at the heart of the green economy.
The conference followed the publication of the Green Alliance’s Reinventing the Wheel: a circular economy for resource security. The report examined three crucial inputs to our society: metals, phosphorus and water, and makes a case for more circular use of resources, as a way of avoiding at least some of the impacts of ever more extraction of natural resources and to avoid the worst impacts of generating waste. Green Alliance propose the use of economic instruments to promote a more circular economy.
This conference report includes a summary of the key issues raised during the conference sessions attended by NNFCC. Further details can be provided by contacting the NNFCC.
