Analysis of GHG Emissions for Thermochemical BioSNG Production and Use in the UK, NNFCC 10-009

This report analyses the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from thermochemical bio-synthetic natural gas (BioSNG) production and use in the United Kingdom (UK). GHG emissions of BioSNG production and use were assessed from various UK and imported biomass feedstocks, derived from various collection and processing techniques.

Subsequent objectives of the project included determination and specification of the essential features of the technology, development of suitable MS Excel workbooks for estimating associated GHG emissions, production of basic results which compared BioSNG production and use with fossil fuel and biomass alternatives, and application of sensitivity analysis to important parameters of the technology.
