LCA of Biopolymers for Single-use Carrier Bags, NNFCC 07-005

This Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study was carried out in accordance with the principles of the ISO 14040 series to investigate the environmental impacts associated with the use of example biopolymers and existing, fossil-based polymers in this application.

The report contains a review of existing studies and issues concerning carrier bags as well as a peer-reviewed life cycle assessment comparing alternative bags to a high density polyethylene reference bag.
