First things first. All of us at NNFCC would like to wish you a Happy New Year 2021. We hope that you have all enjoyed lovely holidays and we are looking forward to doing some exciting work with you this year.

As the Bioeconomy and its associated fields of study evolve and expand, the next challenges needing to be overcome become clearer. As important scientific advances are being made to find alternative to petroleum-based plastics it is crucial to identify the main challenges industries and economies will face to fulfil their objective of rolling out bio-based plastics globally without creating more environmental problems.

Plastic food packaging is a much needed commodity which provides many advantages and can therefore not be abandoned altogether for the sake of reducing plastic pollution...
