Foreword
Biomethane can be produced by
the anaerobic digestion of various agricultural and food wastes and is commonly
used as a fuel. Biomethane as a transport fuel is often utilised in heavy goods
vehicles (HGVs) as it has a similar fuel efficiency and performance to diesel. Biomethane
represents a reduced level of carbon emissions compared to conventional vehicle
fuels. Many commercial fleets of HGVs have already been utilising biomethane as
a transport fuel, and this month the John Lewis Partnership has announced that
they are building a dedicated biomethane gas filling station, making the use of
biomethane more accessible.
Also looking to make
their fleet greener is Posti. Posti provide a delivery service in Finland using
a light delivery fleet, which covers about 40% of parcel deliveries in Finland.
In order to reduce their carbon emissions, they plan to.........
