Foreword

The UK Interim Office for Environmental Protection has been launched ahead of the government’s Environmental Bill being finalised and officially released. The new independent group will oversee the government’s environmental progress and, following Royal Ascent of the Environmental Bill, will become the Board of the Office for Environmental Protection as an independent legal entity. This comes as the UK’s commitment to the country’s 2050 Net Zero target is strengthening on all fronts.
