Foreword 

Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production in Europe, though not yet on par with other biofuels, has been steadily rising. Mandates requiring minimum SAF blends are a contributing factor. Norway for example currently has a 0.5% blending mandate for SAF, and on a wider scope the European Commission hopes to increase the uptake of SAF. A new roadmap initiative called ReFuelEU Aviation aims at boosting supply and demand within the EU, and the proposal for the regulation finished the consultation period in April.
