Foreword
In 2023, the share of renewable energy in transport reached 10.8 per cent across the EU, according to Eurostat figures. Sweden led the EU with regards to the share of renewables in its transport mix, with 33.7 per cent. Finland came second with 20.7%, followed by the Netherlands and Austria. Most of the growth in renewables in these countries is due to advanced and waste biofuels produced using used cooking oil, animal fats, and palm residues. These raw materials apparently represent 40 per cent of all feedstocks used in producing biofuels for EU transport. Campaign group Transport & Environment (T&E) cautions that reaching the 2030 goal requires a significant acceleration in use: namely, an annual average increase of 2.6 per cent between 2024 and 2030.

Chinese exports into the EU market will be subjected to an anti-dumping duty of between 21.7% and 35.6%, except for EcoCeres, which would be subject to a 10% duty. Provisional anti-dumping duties were proposed in July 2024, however implementation was subject to the approval of national governments of EU member states...
