Foreword

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) in the UK is a payment scheme for those who generate heat from renewable sources. The Domestic RHI, intended for households and small businesses, and the non-domestic RHI, for larger-scale generators have been running since 2011 and 2014 respectively, financially rewarding those installing biomass boilers, AD and biomethane injection facilities. Both schemes are set to close in March 2021 and there has been concern about what will replace it.
BEIS have recently opened up a consultation on Future Support for Low Carbon Heat, considering how the sector will be supported post March 2021. Within the consultation are proposals for a Green Gas Support Scheme and a Clean Heat Grant. The Green Gas Support System would contribute to decarbonisation of the gas grid through.........
